Arlington Heights resident James Kesteloot retires this month as executive director of the Chicago Lighthouse for People Who Are Blind or Visually Impaired after working 40 years for the agency. Kesteloot, 64, has been legally blind his whole life due to juvenile macular degeneration. But he can see far better today, thanks to the improvements in adaptive aids and technology.
